2018 hHiM Activities

Here are a few of the opportunities we have planned so far for this fall. More events will be added as the semester progresses:

  • English Conversation Lunch Group — Practice your English and learn about American culture without taking a lot of time away from your research, studies, or whatever is keeping you busy. Two things make this a very efficient way to practice your English: 1) You are welcome to bring your lunch and eat while we talk with one another. You need to eat anyway. Why not practice your English while eating lunch? (Well, in between bites, please. Haha.) 2) We meet right in the heart of campus in Room 304 of Johnston Student Center so it will only take you just a few minutes to walk to our meeting! Buy some food at Subway in the same building, or bring your lunch from home. Either way we look forward to meeting you! Email Steve at HOUSEofHOPEvt@gmail.com if you have any questions.
  • International Ladies’ Bible study — Free childcare provided! Fridays 10:00am to 11:30am in an American home. For more information call Stacey at 540-961-0299 or email HOUSEofHOPEvt@gmail.com.
  • Bible Discussion Group — Do you have questions about the Christian faith? Come explore what Christians believe as we read some key passages from the Bible and discuss what they mean. No previous knowledge of the Bible required. 7pm Mondays. Email HOUSEofHOPEvt@gmail.com for directions.
  • Building a Marriage that Really Works — A Bible study for married couples. 6pm Thursdays at the home of Steve & Stacey Wilkin.
  • ACROSS — Fun and games for the whole family 7pm Fridays at the Baptist Collegiate Ministries building — 307 Washington Street.
  • International Christian Fellowship — Sunday mornings at 9:45 at the Blacksburg Christian Fellowship church building.

All these events are FREE!

For more information on any of these events, please email us at HOUSEofHOPEvt@gmail.com. We would be happy to tell you everything you need to know to join us.

We hope to meet you soon.
