2017 hHiM Activities

Here are a few of the opportunities we have planned so far for this fall. More events will be added as the semester progresses:

  • English Practice Class for Families — Practice your English and learn about American culture in an American home just a 10 minute drive from campus! Toys and activities will be available for children to play with while the adults enjoy talking and learning about each other’s culture.
  • Conversational English Class — this one is for adults only, no toys provided. Sorry. Thursdays at 3pm.
  • International Ladies’ Bible study — Childcare provided! Fridays 9:45am to 11:30am in an American home.
  • Small group book discussions — we get together, read a few pages from a book, clear up the meaning of any English words that are new, and discuss the ideas presented.
  • Fun and games for the whole family 7pm Fridays at the Baptist Collegiate Ministries building — 307 Washington Street.
  • International Christian Fellowship, Sunday mornings at 9:40 at the Blacksburg Christian Fellowship church building.
  • Special short trips to visit some of the most interesting things to see and do within a short drive — usually on Saturdays. Our first trip will be Saturday, August 26, to see a recreated Native American village and a beautiful natural bridge carved right out of the mountain by a river!

For more information on any of these events, please email us at HOUSEofHOPEvt@gmail.com. We would be happy to tell you everything you need to know to join us.

We hope to meet you soon.
